DAAN...ACT OF BEING TRUE REPUBLIC... THINK AND ACT...

Two times in a year your social network sites get tricolored, from morning till the midnight you will listen Deshbhakti par songs, your mobile get flooded with full of patriotism {I mean with the messages of patriotism, what’s app made it easier indeed}. Wow.... and it is exactly twice a year. See, today is Republic Day, 26th January, First day of patriotism in the beginning of the year, second we all know... anyways... Let’s talk about today, Today is a republic day, Google search gives meaning for republic is "a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. A group with a certain equality between its members". Now, think on this statement and let yourself know how we deal with it. 

Sorry to mention but being a part of Republic Country, every individual has few responsibilities towards it. Most of us usually take a call on how the elected ones are not doing good and how they should leave the path on game play of politics. Yeah.. We made politics or politician a curse, an abusive word some times. But how many of us really feel that they also have a burden of responsibility and they require to fulfill it with number of obligations. Now one may say that I am trying to please them with all these words. Let me clear one thing here, for such areas like politics and positions or party or ruling party, my opinion is purely unbiased. I am neither a RSS supporter or nor a congress follower, But yes I believe in ethics and good work. Whosoever will do well, I will for sure appreciate that and adopt the implementations till the extend I can. Somebody asked me what exactly you follow then, let me answer the same in a Simple word “REPUBLIC”.

Anyways let’s not go to the village of that we don’t live in. Few days ago, one of my friend asked me “Mrunal, you write and always say that we all must do good and participate in the development, But as we do not have any authority we cannot, and on your statement of donating something, Sorry to say but I am not that rich to do so.”, But here I would Ask a simple question, tell me what you think about donation? We have again made this concept a havoc that donation seems like a burden. But buddy, we all are participating in it. See, I am not confusing you but taking you to the fact. Ok, tell me what Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modiji did?.. He said after completion of his 60 days, "When the country makes progress, its 125 crore people make progress," Think into deep buddy he involved you in everything. Giving up your subsidy, or cleaning your area whatever it may be, whatever the progress may be but it was every individual, it’s not only his or my participation but it’s your participation too. {Sorry boss I am not supporting any party here again, but yes accepting the good cause}.

I accept everyone cannot be a social worker, everyone cannot step in the gutter and clear it anyways, and everyone cannot spent entire savings of his or her lives to the betterment of a needy. Neither I am nor is anybody saying to do so…but before moving to something, let me share a small story I have read from the articles of Va. Pu. Kale Sir {Well known and impact-full writer in Marathi Literature}. He has narrated a story of a Sadhu, this sadhu used to collect bhiksha or ask for daan and survive on the same. It was his daily ritual to collect it from door to door and everybody did daan for him, but there was one house from where he always received cursing and abusive words in spite that was the richest house of that area. Years passed and this process was going on without change. Now sadhu was getting older. Once as a regular ritual he went in front of that rich house and asked for daan, received the same what he was receiving since years but this time he stood there and fair lady of that house irritatingly asked him, "What else you want now?". This time sadhu smiled and said with polite tone, "I want nothing but a handful of dust from your courtyard". Lady laughed at him and gave him what he asked without insulting him. She got puzzled a bit and asked, what will you do with this dust? can you please tell me the reason of this demand? That Sadhu smiled again and humbly said “Just to tell you that your hands can also give something, this demand was nothing but a small initiation towards the habit of donation”. Isn’t it great?

Not something big but at least that which I do not require any more for me or I cannot use it anymore for me can be passed on to other or for the betterment of other. I may never opt to give away the things which like or to which I am attached but I will not mind to give up on the things to which I am not. It’s called Dana paramita in Buddhism. It may not make change for me but for the person who is receiving something from it, will for sure get benefited. My friend said I cannot but I say yes we can, what is dust for me will bring good faith for me when I donate it. Anyhow I am Giving it without getting attached to it. What else I can but to start with a bundle of Newspapers?. To what I call Raddi in simple layman language. I am nowhere attached to that bundle of newspapers which anyhow occupies the space. And what happened yesterday I read today becomes dust for me in the next minute. So am I attached to those 10 Rs?, which I will get after giving the bundle of these newspapers to Raddiwala after 2 to 3 months? No I am not, I have my people to whom I donate this Raddi, Yes I donate this, and it is used for the betterment of some one. If you also wish to do so, then you can contact me or drop your wish of donating the things to which you are not attached. Think it gives double benefit. Firstly You get rid of the unnecessary burden and Secondly by performing Daan, you earn Punya. {It is very Small, but Bund Bund se Ghat Bharta Hai..} By doing this you might feel being a part of REPUBLIC. {Try toh kar sakte ho…}
