Reflections on the Historic Pran Pratishta of Lord Ram in Ayodhya

Prabhu Shri Ramachandra is revered as an ideal personality, a paramount figure in Indian history whose saga resonates through generations. The narrative of Sri Ramachandra's life, as depicted in the epic Ramayana, transcends mere mythology and becomes a profound tale of an ordinary man's journey to divinity. While Ram is undoubtedly a divine incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the significance lies in his earthly sojourn, experiencing the spectrum of human emotions and trials. Ram, the Lord, encapsulates every facet of human existence – from limitations and relationships to friendship, love, and even adversities. To comprehend the essence of virtuous living in the face of challenges, one need only turn to the life of Ram, drawing inspiration from his exemplary conduct.

The tales of Ram's exploits, conveyed through stories, songs, and poems, have been diligently passed down from one generation to the next. Despite being grounded in culture and history, the journey of Ram is often characterized as the metamorphosis of an ordinary man into a divine entity. Ram's earthly trials, sorrows, and joys serve as a mirror reflecting the human experience, making his story an everlasting source of wisdom.

The enduring love and admiration for Lord Ramachandra go beyond mere reverence for his divine status. It stems from the fact that Ram, in becoming Ramachandra, sets a myriad of examples, teaching humanity how to navigate the complexities of life. Even as we have grown up hearing countless renditions of Ram's tales, the allure of his personality remains undiminished. With each passing commentator and researcher offering fresh perspectives, our fascination with Ram deepens, and our love for him continues to grow.

The question arises, why is this enduring attraction to Ram so universal? To see and not merely observe, to experience and not just verify – this is an innate sentiment, difficult to encapsulate in words. Ram, who transformed into Lord Ramachandra, remains an eternal source of inspiration and affection for every individual. His timeless story serves as a perennial wellspring of lessons, resonating across time and inviting us to explore the depths of our own connection with the divine.

In 1528 AD, the tranquil city of Ayodhya witnessed the tumultuous inception of a historical saga when Babar, the Mughal emperor, set in motion a cycle of uncertainty. It was during this period that the seeds of discord were sown, marking the beginning of a long and arduous journey for Ayodhya and its people. The once serene landscape became a battleground of conflicting narratives and aspirations, as Babar's actions initiated a sequence of events that would echo through the annals of time. Little did the citizens of Ayodhya realize that the reverberations of Babar's actions would cast a shadow over the city for centuries, sparking a series of struggles, wars, and ultimately, the quest for the restoration of a sacred birthplace – the culmination of which unfolded Today on January 22, 2024, with the installation of Lord Ram in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

In a momentous chapter of Indian history, Ayodhya is witnessing the fulfilment of a timeless dream as Shri Ram is ceremoniously installed in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This historic event marks the end of a tumultuous journey that began in 1528 AD when Babar set in motion a cycle of uncertainty.

For more than 4 lakh Hindus, who sacrificed their lives in 78 wars spanning centuries, this day is a poignant victory. Their unwavering commitment to rebuilding the birthplace of Lord Ram, Sujlam Suphalam, is finally realized as the sacred ritual of pranapratistha unfolds after 500 years of anticipation.

The streets of not only Ayodhya but every city, village, locality in the country are ablaze with festive fervor reminiscent of Diwali. The cities are draped in saffron flags that proudly fly on temples, buildings, houses, and shops. The air resonates with the continuous chant of Ramnaam, and every nook and corner of the country echoes with the blessings of Lord Ram. Today, with Ayodhya we all stand truly blessed, symbolizing the triumph of faith over centuries.

Under the meticulous guidance of ritual coordinator Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and chief Acharya Laxmikant Dixit, the rituals at Shriram Janmabhoomi Sthala have unfolded in a seamless progression. From the sacred Hom Havan to the formal entry of the Ramlalla idol, and the elaborate ceremonies of Jalayatra, Jaladhivas, Gandhadhivas, Kesaradhivas, Dhritadhivas, and more – each step is a testament to the unwavering devotion of the people.

On this momentous day, emotions run deep across the nation. The Prana Pratishta Sohla of Shri Ram, scheduled for today, is the culmination of a spiritual journey that has traversed through centuries of hope, sacrifice, and resilience. As the 115-minute ceremony commenced at 12:20 pm, over 90 crore people across the country were tunned in through, Youtube, Web Lives, Doordarshan and TV. The live broadcast also illuminated the Times Square Building in America, connecting devotees across continents in this divine celebration.

The significance of this day cannot be overstated. It is a collective celebration of faith, a manifestation of unity, and a reaffirmation of India's spiritual heritage. As the Pran Pratistha ceremony unfolds, it draws together saints, spiritual leaders, and devotees from diverse backgrounds, reaffirming the inclusive spirit of the nation.

Amidst the grandeur, it's crucial to acknowledge the personal stories woven into this historic tapestry. Families, like my own, have witnessed the tough times during the days of Chalo Ayodhya Abhityan as Kar Sewaks. Uncles and relatives endured hardships, even imprisonment, as they zealously participated in the movement. Today, as Shri Ram is ceremonially installed, it feels like a moment of redemption, a symbolic release from the metaphorical jail of historical struggles. The journey of Many Families and countless individuals adds a deeply personal layer to the collective joy that permeates the air today.

For the people of India, this day is a poignant reminder of resilience and the enduring power of faith. The emotional significance lies not just in the consecration of Shri Ram but in the symbolism of a united nation, standing together to witness the fruition of a centuries-old dream. Today, hearts swell with pride, tears of joy flow freely, and a profound sense of connection with the divine pervades the air. It is a day when history converges with spirituality, and the soul of India rejoices in the harmonious embrace of its cultural tapestry. Jai Shri Ram!

Swami Vivekananda's Insights for Modern Living

Day started with the Ting Ting Ting….! Nothing just few Whatsapps I received. Today being special day on the Birth Anniversary of Swamiji really wish to write something that I really feel. As I reflect on Swami Vivekananda's teachings on his birth anniversary as per the whatsapp messages, I am struck by the profound impact his words continue to have on the youth of today. In a world where information is abundant, yet wisdom is often elusive, Vivekananda's intellectual prowess stands as a beacon, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of our own potential.

In the hustle of our daily lives, it's easy to forget the reservoirs of strength within us. Swamiji's teachings, encapsulated in the powerful statement, "All power is within you; you can do anything and everything," remind me that greatness is not an abstract concept but a tangible possibility waiting to be unleashed. How many times have we heard or read these words? The truth is, they've become somewhat of a cliché, popping up in messages on WhatsApp or birthday wishes. Yet, beneath the familiarity lies a profound call to action – a call to rise above the mundane and embrace our inherent capabilities.

In the Marathi we say  कळतं पण वळत नाही, (Kalata pan walat nahi) the truth resonates that realization alone is not enough; action is the key. Vivekananda's emphasis on self-empowerment demands more than mere acknowledgment; it requires a conscious effort to break free from the chains of complacency and actively engage with our potential. Today's youth, including myself, may find comfort in the routine, but Swamiji encourages us to look beyond, to strive for something greater.

Human nature, as Swami Vivekananda observed, tends to resist change, even in the face of undeniable truths. The conflict between the heart and the brain is a familiar battleground. "In a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart," he advised. These words carry a resonance that transcends time, urging us to trust our instincts and embrace the path that aligns with our true purpose. I often find myself at crossroads, torn between logic and intuition. Swamiji's guidance becomes a comforting compass, pointing towards authenticity and the pursuit of our heroic potential.

The call to "Be Hero" is not a distant ideal but a personal challenge. Swami Vivekananda envisioned a society where individuals, each recognizing their inner strength, could collectively contribute to the greater good. As I celebrate his birth anniversary, I am not merely paying tribute; I am actively seeking to embody the principles he espoused. These aren't just quotes to be shared on social media; they are invitations to introspection, courage, and an unwavering commitment to our ideals.

It's crucial to recognize that these teachings extend beyond the professional realm. In personal relationships, too, understanding the depth of Vivekananda's wisdom is transformative. Trusting one's instincts and aligning with authentic values can foster more profound connections. Today's youth, including myself (I am Still in the line), often receive these profound teachings in the form of messages on WhatsApp or quotes shared during special occasions. It's time to go beyond the surface, to internalize these words and let them guide our actions. Swami Vivekananda's legacy endures as a source of inspiration, urging us to rise, awake, and pursue our goals with an indomitable spirit. Let us not only remember his words but live them, for therein lies the true power to shape our destinies.

What you think ?!!

A Glimpse into the Dark Side of Society and the Future of a Generation

In a busy city corner, where things are tough,

There's a place called Slum, where life's a bit rough.

As the New Year begins with joy and cheer,

A different story unfolds, one that's not so clear.

As the clock strikes midnight, ushering in a new year, we are often enveloped in the warmth of hope and the promise of fresh beginnings. The air is filled with celebratory cheers, echoing the collective optimism that the coming days hold. However, beneath this veneer of jubilation lies a stark truth—a reality that is easily overlooked amidst the festivities. It becomes imperative to peel back the layers of merriment and confront the unspoken challenges that persist in the fabric of our society.

In the following narrative, we delve into a recent eye-opening experience—a visit to Satabdi Square Toli Vasti, a slum area that lays bare the pressing issues plaguing our communities. It is not like no one knows about it. People know, some work also, but no one can dare to enter here. This expedition serves as a poignant reminder that even as we embrace the dawn of a new year, there exists a significant backlog of societal concerns that demand our attention and action.

As I ventured into this area for office-related tasks, I couldn't turn a blind eye to the stark contrast between the celebratory spirit of the New Year and the grim living conditions of the residents in Satabdi Square Toli Vasti. It is here that I encountered a friend, Kushal Dhak, a TEDx speaker whose eye-opening discourse shed light on the bitter truth and darker side of our rapidly growing cities.

Kushal Dhak's revelations transcended the confines of a TEDx stage; they became a call to action. The slum, often overlooked by many, unveiled the harsh reality of how a significant segment of our society lives. The dilapidated shanties, lack of basic amenities, and the struggle for survival were evident in every corner.

In these neglected slums, where houses are small,

A tiny child wanders with no clothes at all.

Just two years old, in the winter's cold,

No parents in sight, a story to be told.

Amidst the disheartening scenes, one particular moment sank my heart—the sight of a naked child, no older than 2 1/2 years. The absence of parents, especially in the unforgiving winter, raised questions about the unimaginable challenges faced by some in our society. Witnessing other children roaming around with plates in hand, eating whatever meager sustenance they could find, added to the gravity of the situation.

The future of this generation hangs in the balance, caught in a cycle of poverty, neglect, and dire circumstances. The vulnerability and helplessness that characterize the lives of those born into such conditions raise concerns about their well-being and the prospects that lie ahead.

Little footsteps in the cold street,

Kids with plates, looking for something to eat.

Kushal Dhak, a friend who cares,

Shares their truth, their struggles, and snares.

Kushal Dhak, moved by the distressing scenes witnessed in Satabdi Square Toli Vasti, has taken upon himself the responsibility to bring about change. His focus extends beyond momentary relief; he envisions a transformation through education and sports. While the magnitude of societal change may seem overwhelming, the impact on individual lives could be profound.

He talks about education, he talks about play,

Ways to brighten their future, to light their day.

In this hard life, where dreams seem far,

He wants to bring change, like a shining star.

The journey to uplift the residents of Satabdi Square Toli Vasti may begin with the education of the youth. By providing access to knowledge and skills, we can empower them to escape the clutches of poverty and create a brighter future. Education not only equips individuals with the tools to break free from the shackles of destitution but also fosters a mindset shift within the community.

Involving the youth in sports is another crucial aspect of Kushal Dhak's initiative. Sports not only promote physical well-being but also instill values such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience. These qualities serve as building blocks for a more positive and hopeful outlook, potentially steering individuals away from the desperate measures of begging and theft.

The future of these kids, it's not so clear,

Trapped in a tough cycle, a struggle sincere.

But with each lesson, each hopeful grin,

There's a chance for a better life to begin.

While the task at hand may seem monumental, the impact on even a single life is an achievement worth celebrating. Kushal Dhak's efforts serve as a reminder that change, no matter how incremental, is possible. As we embark on this new year, let us not only embrace fresh beginnings in our personal lives but also extend our efforts to bring about positive transformations in the lives of those less fortunate. The journey towards a better society begins with acknowledging the realities that often go unseen and unheard and working towards securing a brighter future for the generations to come.

In the heart of these slums, where life seems tough,

Kushal dreams of change, and that's enough.

For every naked child, every tiny face,

He brings a promise of love, a warm embrace.

In lives busy tapestry, where shadows may play,

There's a story of hope, in a simple lay.

Let kindness guide us, near and far,

In slums like these, somebody to arrive like a comforting star.
